This video contains 3 training films made by the Army during World War II. It's everything you ever wanted to know about the M-2 (light tank) and M-3 (medium tank). You will see the following footage... .... film #1 The manufacture and use of the M-3 Tank. Scenes of the tanks being assembled, treads, motors, guns and turrets are put in place at the factory, most likely it takes place at the Chrysler Tank Arsenal. Shows stock of many parts required to build a tank. There is also footage of a staged tank attack at Fort Knox, KY in 1942.....film #2.....Looks at tactics related to firing the tank, such as when the tanks use machine guns, what caliber to use, what happens if you are confronted by anti-tank weapons, etc....Film #3..... is on tank driving and maintenence, signals used by tankers, what to do if your tank breaks down, etc. (Films 1 & 2 are in excellent condition, film #3 has a few areas where the image is faded; however it is still very viewable.) Films cover both diesel and gas engine tanks.
