Best WWII film ever made!! November 27, 2001 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I am not a mini-series type person, nor do I religiously watch anything on television, but I absolutely loved this series. I probably have seen each episode at least four times. This is first class stuff! HBO needs to make this series available on DVD.
Band of Brothers - Band of Fans!!!! November 27, 2001 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I learned so much about our history of WWII. I was on the edge of my seat during the entire series. Not since I was a teen have I been a fanatic about a TV show. I was so sorry to see it end. Who does the marketing? I want collectibles, T-shirts, posters, and especially the DVD!!! I can't wait to watch it again!
HBO's Band of Brothers November 26, 2001 14 out of 14 found this review helpful
Based on Stephen Ambrose's book of the same name, Band of Brothers is a must-see for anyone who is interested in World War II history or American paratroopers. It is an extraordinary history of Easy Company, of the 101st Airborne, following the men and officers from training into Normandy, Holland, and Germany, cumulating in the capture of the Eagle's Nest. At ten hours, I wished it could be longer. There are interviews with veterans at the beginning of each episode, which adds to the interest. The cinematography is outstanding and unflinching. The cast is enthralling. Simply put, it is one of the best programs I have ever seen. Be careful; this series is amazingly addictive.
The Perfect Tribute November 26, 2001 This production is the perfect tribute to veterans of WWII who sacrificed their lives to preserve our precious freedom. It is without a doubt the best war movie ever made. I can't wait to share this series with famiy and friends alike.
5 stars plus! November 26, 2001 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
As a 15 year old high school student my generation has not been able to experience a victory as great as the many our country has accomplished in the past, but this series took me there. Amazing is a understatement for this series. It truly touched my heart. I own the book and I have seen many WWII movies but this by far takes the cake. Truly epic, I felt as if I knew the characters. I hope this series will be on dvd/vhs by Christmas! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!!!!
