5 out of 5 stars Awesome!   May 15, 2008
My husband likes all the war movies, me, not so much. But I have to say they hit a home run with this series. I could not wait to watch the next episode. It is a very personal view of war and their experiences.

5 out of 5 stars Historically Important Series   May 14, 2008
Wow! This DVD set has already been reviewed to death but I still need to comment on this outstanding series. I am a member of the military and I find myself thinking about how it must have been to serve during WWII and how truly horrific it must have been to have not only witnessed what these men witnessed but to have lived and actively participated in these events. This series pulls no punches. I've not been in combat but I have to believe this series shows what it must have really been like. Too many war movies glorify war. This series glorifies the courage of these men while showing the true horror of war. This series also puts a very real human face to those who were there. It makes you realize that the man next door could have been someone who was part of this war. It makes you understand why the elderly men wearing the VFW hats get teary eyed during the national anthem. And, it makes you, in light of the world since 9/11, understand that this was truly a different time in history. I believe this series is very important. If you haven't viewed it please do so. And, please, thank a soldier today for all they are willing to do for you and this country

5 out of 5 stars Easily the best WWII movie out there   May 8, 2008
I bought this for my dad for his birthday. I've watched it twice now, and you can't get much better than this. Great actors, great cast, good storyline that is cohesive and flowing, and lots of action. I find that movies like Saving Private Ryan were slow and dragging, but this whole series went by without any of that for me. Highly recommended.

5 out of 5 stars Best War Series....Ever!   May 5, 2008
I watched this series when it first came to DVD, and bought it soon after. Just this past Christmas I bought one for a friend and one for my Dad. The series is absolutely amazing in it's depth. You become very involved with the characters, and understand a little of what they went though during the war. I have watched the entire series four times now, and still find myself watching it occasionally when it airs on the history channel every so often. You will not be disappointed with Band of Brothers.
