I love this dvd! Jenna is so clear and concise in her instruction. She stands in front of a huge mirror so you can see her at all times, including her feet. I have been taking lessons for 5 months but this is a must own dvd. As the title says she starts with the basics, such as posture and arm and hand positions. She takes it all the way through to hip drops,foot patterns and everything in between. She then has practice combinations with or without voice instructions. There are also sub catergories to choose from for even more practice and instructions. Jenna is pretty, very likable and has a pleasant voice and teaches real dance moves, NOT counting 1,2,3--1,2,3--which I dislike in other dvds. I have a couple other good beginner dvds, but this is the one I reach for everyday! If you want a REAL beginner teaching dvd that breaks down every move from A-Z then Jenna is the one!

This is a wonderful bellydance instructional DVD! The instructor breaks down the bellydance moves slowly and because the DVD is so well organized, you can easily repeat the selections. The instructor performs the moves alone in front of a full length mirror in a dance studio. This helps you see the movements from the front, back, and sides. I also appreciated the feature of being able to view the combination moves with music only or with music and instruction. This is a keeper.

This DVD breaks bellydancing down to its tiniest steps and then begins to build and combine them. I have never taken a dance class in my life, much less bellydance but it seems some practice with this DVD will give me confidence to try it in a more public setting. This is a very long DVD and I have not even made it past the first hour+ of steps and I am glad that the completed dances are still to come and that I will not have to make another purchase to further my learning.

This has to be one of the BEST dvds on the market for teaching the moves necessary to form a solid belly dance base and an absolute must have for any beginning belly dance student. Jenna is a lovely dancer and a fantastic teacher who clearly explains and demonstrates every move. The price of this dvd is GREAT because, at over two hours in length, you sure get a lot for your money! Another winner from World Dance New York!

Though I do not know Jennna personally, I do recognize that she is a good technician of the Belly Dance technique. Being formally educated in the dance, I look for teaching DVD's that have instructors that are clean and concise, interesting in their approach and have the spirit of the dance. Jenna is joyous simplicity in this DVD...there is a lot to be gained as a teacher and student of Danse Orintale here...great DVD.
